Pubs and Food

Ongoing list of places that I’ve found and loved here in London and in my travels:

ENGLAND:

London (in no particular order)

Ten Bells – Spitalfields – the ‘Jack the Ripper Pub’

Wool Pack – London Bridge – Lovely outdoor area, good food and good vibes

Churchill Arms – Kensington – Great for instagramming, apparently good thai food

Astronomer – Bishopsgate – They have my favourite pies in London

Smuggler’s Tavern – Warren St. – Really good food, small and packed but good atmosphere!

Smokehouse – Canonbury – My favourite Sunday Roast! Really nice inside, and lovely garden for nicer weather days.

Sun in Splendor – Notting Hill – Second favourite Sunday Roast and lovely pub!

Trafalgar Tavern – Greenwich – Lovely food and huge pub with Thames side dining. I always take visitors here.

The Holly Bush – Hampstead Heath – Honestly I haven’t eaten here yet as I’ve never been smart enough to book in advance! It’s a gorgeous pub up a quiet hill in Hampstead Heath. The staff are friendly and drinks are good.

IRELAND:

Kilkenny

Favourites:

Hole in the Wall – The BEST, basically Diagon Alley (read more about it here)

Biddy Earlys – 25-40 set, cool!

Bollards – Best Irish Stew, feels 1960s cozy

Cleere’s Bar – Divey at first, but very cozy and has great food! (get the soup)

Kyteler’s Inn – First witch trial in Europe, Super old, and very cool place

Dylan Whisky Bar – Hip Whisky Place

The rest are good too:

Matt the Millers – Great traditional Music

Lanigans – Sports bar with nice staff

Brewery Corner – Weird vibe, but awesome craft beer

Paris Texas – Decent BBQ and a wicked IPA

The Kilford Arms – They have a pringles dispenser, nice barmen

Metropole – The Local

The Field – The lad bar, great live music and dancing

An Poc Fada – da Club

Oval Bar – Dublin
