Mum in London

I was so blessed that my lovely Mom came to visit me! She arrived on American Mother's Day (different date than in England), and was here for her 65th Birthday! What a lucky girl I am to spend such days with her. I traveled to Heathrow to 'pick her up' by which I mean I... Continue Reading →

Spring in London

Well, I'm catching up on some blog posts here so bear with me. Yes, I AM posting about this past spring (and early summer) now in August. A lot has happened since April! A visit from my mom, a brief romance that led to a friendship, a couple out of town jaunts and lots of... Continue Reading →

Visiting London?

I get a lot of questions about where is best to go in London. I'm going to try to add to this list as I find more great places to go and things to do but here's what I can think of right now. Firstly it's important to know where you'll be staying - I... Continue Reading →

Commuting Part II

Commuting has been an interesting challenge. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled I don't have to drive. (If you have ever commuted to work in Los Angeles you'll understand why!) I live in a spot that's not terribly close to a tube station. It's 15 minutes walk one direction (OLD STREET) or 20 minutes to... Continue Reading →

Pants vs. Trousers

This will be an ongoing list of dialect differences that I need to get used to  Pants vs. Trousers ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ we use the term pants to describe pretty much any clothing that goes on your legs: jeans, slacks, leggings, etc.  ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง the term pants is reserved for what Americans call underwear.  This can be awkward.

I made it!

The last 2 months have been some of the absolute craziest of my life. I feel like I basically went to sleep after I accepted my new job, and woke up in London a month later. So much stress has happened in the last few weeks and I think I've essentially blocked it out. Which... Continue Reading →
