Los Angeles Part 1

February marked 6 months since I’ve been living abroad and since I had seen my family (and the sun). I was looking forward to heading home to reconnect with some friends, love on my family and not wear a hat, gloves, a scarf, three layers and a heavy coat.

My trip started from Heathrow and I flew Air New Zealand because it’s the bloody best. Always fly it if you can. It took a whopping 12 1/2 hours to get home, that’s the longest flight I’ve ever done and I was going a bit cuckoo! It took a bit longer because the pilot flew a 30 minute diversion to avoid a storm which I’m thankful for!

I got home and my mom picked me up and took me straight to my brother and sister-in-laws house for some Tito’s tacos! It was so nice to see everyone, but honestly, it didn’t feel like I hadn’t seen them because technology! Facetime sure makes life a lot easier.

The next day I stopped in at Disney Toons Studios (who we are working with over here in London) – Ironically, I used to drive by it every day on my way to Disney Feature and I even sat in that building for a few months during construction on the Feature Building.

I also popped in at Disney Feature and it felt normal. I thought it would feel weird to be back there but I have so many wonderful friends and memories from there it felt great.

Also I ate more Mexican food.
